Everyone knows punchy drum break samples are the lifeblood of Hip Hop and Rap music, but if it was not for the Legendary E-mu Systems SP-12 & SP-1200, those drum breaks would have never been sampled and looped to such great effect. The SP-1200 has been the basis of virtually all classic hip-hop that the world knows. Nowadays many producers have preferred to use more prechopped and engineered or factory drum kits, but there will always be a group of folks who choose to sample and chop records by hand.
Our man, DOS.putin has meticulously sampled over 200 classic drum breaks into the SP-1200, and then re-recorded them directly into the Elektron Analog RYTM.
